After much speculation, even with European teams, midfielder Bruno Lamas is going to Cruzeiro
The promising player was released by Santos a few months ago, anticipating the end of his contract with Time da Vila Belmiro and was negotiating with some teams from Brazil and Europe.
Once on Tottenham’s sight, a few years ago, the youngster was target of teams as Flamengo, Internacional, Atlético-PR and Braga, from Portugal.

At only 19, Lamas tries to get back to the status he had when left São Paulo, in the end of 2009. At the Tricolor, on the u15 team, he made a great partnership with Lucas Piazon and Ademilson, winning a shot at the National Team, but was cutted because of a muscular injury.
Even with great performances at Clube do Morumbi, Lamas didn’t earn a professional contract, as the club decided to give priority to Allan, Mirray and Piazon, to irritate the former São Paulo u15 coach Bruno Petri: “They got to be kidding. How do you let a player like Bruno go?”, said the coach, now training Palmeiras u15.
Better for Santos, who showed interest in and signed the youngster.
At the seaside team Lamas had a good start, calling the attention of Tottenham Hotspur, but the negotiations didn’t happen. He won the u17 São Paulo State Championship in 2010 against São Paulo. In 2011 he was runner up when Palmeiras was the champion, also he made great appearances as a starter on Copa São Paulo 2012.
Bruno is a strong midfielder and is very good on free kicks and corner kicks. He integrate the Cruzeiro’s u20 with plans of its coaches to play for the professionals in 2013.
